The government reaffirmed its commitment through the Office of the Presidency, stating the importance of preventing political bias within the Ghana Armed Forces. Highlighting the Armed Forces' national and international reputation, it was emphasized that their professionalism should not be undermined by political affiliations.
These statements were issued following various
reports suggesting that the President had met with security agency leaders to
plan leadership changes to further an agenda in the upcoming December 07, 2024,
elections.
Eugene Arhin, the Director of Communications at the Presidency, signed a
statement on Thursday, January 04, 2024, assuring that there would be no

In the statement, it was reiterated that “The Armed Forces is a crucial
institution that has gained well-deserved respect for its professionalism over
the years, on both national and international fronts."
Arhin elaborated that "the Akufo-Addo-led administration will diligently
protect this reputation by preventing any political partiality from influencing
the operations of Ghana Armed Forces."
The statement goes further to reassure Ghanaians about the 2024 general
elections, declaring they will be conducted transparently, with fairness and
freedom, and exclude any risk of electoral violence. Any attempt to disrupt the
elections, by anyone or any entity, would be rightly punished under the
national laws.
To maintain the peace and stability of Ghana, the Presidency asserted that the
public should ignore the unfounded speculations and publications aiming to
incite unrest within the Armed Forces.
The statement acknowledged a meeting between the President and Heads of
Security agencies at Jubilee House on January 2nd, 2024. However, the statement
clarified that this meeting was not politically motivated, it's a ritual
performed annually at the start of the new year.

felicitations for the incoming year to the President. The President, in return,
acknowledges their continuous commitment to upholding the tranquility and
