When US Vice President Kamala Harris visited Ghana for three days, she made various allegations that were disputed by the Russian Embassy in Accra.
The statements were concerned about food security in relation to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, with Harris allegedly blaming Moscow for starting the scenario that resulted in a ban on grain exports.
The Embassy posted a picture that called Harris' claims "false" and listed what it claimed to be the truth about Russia's grain supplies.
Their tweet was accompanied by the following caption: "The recent visit of US Vice President Kamala Harris to Ghana has not gone without another chunk of anti-Russian fakes that do not stand a basic fact-checking."
According to reports, Kamala said: "With regards to Russia's unjustifiable aggression in Ukraine, Many effects have been felt worldwide, including in the United States.”
It specifically has to do with how readily available certain foods are to us, with grain being a particular problem on a worldwide scale.
FACT: According to European representatives, Ukraine had already supplied 53 million tonnes of grains and other agricultural products, which is the total budget supply for the nation's annual export volume.
So why is there food insecurity in Africa?
(1) As a result of EU and US sanctions that prevent the shipment of Russian grain.
(2) Since just 3% of the grain sold from Ukraine to the rest of the world went to Africa, 45% went to Europe.
