According to IMANI Africa's Public Understanding and Literacy for Sentiments and Elections (PULSE), John Dramani Mahama is receiving more positive feedback on social media compared to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The IMANI PULSE report was released in December 2023, preceding the upcoming 2024 elections where Mahama is running as the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate and Dr. Bawumia as the flag bearer for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The report indicates that sentiments expressed by Ghanaians towards John Mahama are more favorable than those towards Dr. Bawumia. Specifically, only 9.74% of posts mentioning Dr. Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party exhibited a positive stance. In contrast, John Mahama and the NDC received around 20% positive sentiment on social media.
IMANI highlighted that there were four times posts discussing the N and Dr. Bawia compared to those the NDC and Mah.
