Looking ahead to the 2024 election, the President expressed his
belief that the process will be fair and free, with Dr.
Mahamudu Bawumia,
his Vice President and flag bearer of the governing New Patriotic Party,
emerging as the winner. The President shared this sentiment during an interview
with Accra-based Citi FM at the Ridge Church 31st Watch Night Service, emphasizing
that the year ahead will be characterized by peace and prosperity.
Ghanaians are scheduled
to vote on December 7, 2024, to elect a new president.
According
to IMANI Africa's Public Understanding and Literacy for Sentiments and
Elections (PULSE), John Dramani Mahama is leading in terms of social media
reactions compared to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
This
analysis by IMANI PULSE comes ahead of the 2024 elections, where Mahama is
running as the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, while
Dr. Bawumia is the flag bearer for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Based on the Periodic Social Media Sentiment Analysis Report published in December 2023, Ghanaians have expressed more favorable sentiments towards John Mahama than Dr. Bawumia.
The
survey reveals that only 9.74% of posts mentioning Dr.Bawumia or the New Patriotic Party displayed positive outlook However, approximately 20% of social media posts
mentioning John Mahama and the NDC were positive.
