THE POLICE OFFICER WHO ALLEGEDLY SHOT MAADWOA TO DEATH AT KUMASI IS ARRESTED

     

Kennedy Kankam, the Municipal Chief Executive for Asokore Mampong Constituency, referred to the recent murder of a 28-year-old female by her claimed boyfriend in Kumasi as an act of cowardice.

The accused police officer made a terrible decision driven by a lack of confidence. Said  MCE   

  "What happened was a terrible act. I'm not sure what the individual may have offered the lady... is he the only one who may have suffered a broken heart? Many people have been heartbroken but by reloading the magazine and shooting her with eight shots, he set out to murder her.                                          

"Overall, it's wickedness, it's uncivilized, it's something I can't even find the right word to describe, but when you observe it, he's a coward; he's not a man." "He's a true coward," he lamented in an interview on Hello FM. The incident occurred on Thursday, April 20, 2023, in Kumasi, the Ashanti Region's capital city.

Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, who is stationed among the Palace security at the Manhyia Palace, has been named as a suspect in the suspected murder of Maa Adwoa, a 26-year-old mother of one, in Adum in the Ashanti region.


According to police sources, he shot his girlfriend (side chick) five times over adultery.                      The police Inspector was also a member of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) section of the Ashanti regional police headquarters.


According to a close friend, the lady who died got upset and ended his relationship with Twumasi Ahmed, the police officer. The suspected police officer pleaded with the lady to give up and forget about the incident and urged her to reconsider her decision to end the relationship.

While attempting to reconcile with the lady and seeing no progress, the suspect allegedly pulled out a sidearm and shot her five times till she bleed and died.                                                                                Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service reported the arrest of Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, who had gone into hiding after committing the crime, on Sunday, April 23, 2023.


"A Police officer, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, was arrested this evening on suspicion of shooting and killing a female adult believed to be his girlfriend." On Thursday, April 20, 2023, a shooting happened in Kumasi, in the Ashanti area.

Police operation launched following the shooting incident, the suspect, who has been hiding since the incident, Thus he was arrested at Sekyere, near Effiduase in the Ashanti Region," the Police Service said in a statement.
